What do I need to run NRGSTREAM Trader?
To run NRGSTREAM Trader you must run a Microsoft operating system from Windows Vista SP2 forward (i.e. Vista, Windows 7, etc) and have access to the internet.
Whats the differences between the Xtractor imbedded in Trader vs. the Xtractor product?
The Xtractor imbedded in Trader only runs extracts while Trader is running. The Xtractor product runs as a windows service and can run extracts even when logged out of windows. Xtractor is suited to run on a server.
Why can I only see the first couple of hours on my Chart? How can I change the chart settings so I can see the whole data at once?
From the chart,menu and select options. Set the Gap value to 0.
I know that NRGSTREAM provides data from California, but I can't find it in my account. How can I get access to it?
Contact us and we’ll have the data added to your account. Additional subscriptions fees may be applied.
I am a client of the ICAP Brokers, and know that NRGSTREAM carries the data. How do I get their data added to my account?

The popup alert dialog in NRGSTREAM trader is annoying me. How do I disable it?
Bring up the Alert window and remove the checkbox from "Pop on Alert". Close the Alert window.
How can I download the latest version of NRGSTREAM Trader?
Go to www.nrgstream.com and mouse over Download tab. Click on Trader 7.
Login with your user credentials.
Select one of the following options:
Download NRGSTREAM Trader 7 64 bit or Download NRGSTREAM Trader 7 32 bit.
You will need administrative privileges to install.
I am having problems installing NRGSTREAM Trader. What should I do?
If an error has occurred during installation, ensure that the install has run with sufficient privileges. To run the software, the Installer must have permission to read and write to the programs file directory and to the registry.
How do I install NRGSTREAM Trader API and Excel Add-in?
Trader API and Excel Add-in are now bundled in the install of latest version of NRGSTREAM Trader.
I can’t login to NRGSTREAM Trader from home. What is the problem?
There can be multiple instances of NRGSTREAM Trader installed on different PCs. However, the system is designed so that only one instance can be running at any given time. Ensure that your account is not in use on another instance of Trader. Be sure to Log out before trying to login from a different location.
Is there an alternate way to access my NRGSTREAM Trader account when away from the office?
Yes, you can access your account via NRGSTREAM Web Portal. Ensure your NRGSTREAM Trader account is logged out. Go to www.nrgtream.com and click on the Login tab. Login with your user credentials.
I would like to personalize a stream by adding two of them together. How can I achieve this
Streams can be added together using the Data Adjustment feature. To accomplish this:
Choose a Stream and double click to launch the Streams Properties window.
Click on the Data Adjustments tab at the top of the Stream Properties window. Select Adjust Data by Stream and click the Select button.
Navigate the Stream Selection folders, make a Stream Selection and click the Save button at the top of the column on the right of the Stream Selction window.
Once you have selected a Stream, select the operator "+" from the drop down box and click the Save button to complete the Data Adjustment.
Other custom Streams like Spreads and Heat rates can also be created.
How do I create a day over day comparison chart?
You can make this comparison by first duplicating the Stream and adjusting the date criteria of the duplicate Stream to the previous day. To accomplish this:
Duplicate a Stream and open its Properties window.
Click on the View Range tab and adjust Rolling View from -1 to -1 and click Save.
Create a new chart with the original Stream and the Duplicate Stream.
Ensure the date criteria for the original stream is set from 0 to 0.
I would like to create a slide show using some charts and panels. Do you have this option?
Yes, NRGSTREAM Trader provides a feature called Windows Cycling.
From the NRGSTREAM Trader Tools menu select Window Cycling Options and specify your settings.
Open the Window menu and select Cycle Active Views to start cycling your active charts and panels.
Press CTRL + Q or go to the Window menu and select Quit Cycling Views.
Does NRGSTREAM show Standard Deviation?
Yes, this feature is available as selectable display options. We have hourly, daily and monthly Standard Deviation representing the hourly, daily and monthly variations from the average.
What do I need to run NRGSTREAM Web Portal?
To run NRGSTREAM Professional you need a current browser from Microsoft, Firefox or Chrome. We have gone the extra mile to ensure that NRGSTREAM Professional is compatible with these browsers. We are compatible with the Opera browser but have noticed that some buttons do not work properly. We recommend you use Internet Explorer 9.0 or higher.
I want to download 40 days of 5 minute data in NRGSTREAM Web Portal, but it keeps saying that there is a maximum point limitation of 10,000 points. How can I get around this limitation?
Set your Rolling Range to select your 40 days of data and click the DOWNLOAD button. Do not hit Enter or press REFRESH prior to clicking DOWNLOAD.
I am trying to do an overlay of yesterday vs today on the same stream. I know that in NRGSTREAM Trader I can duplicate a stream and set it to yesterday for my overlay, how do I do this with NRGSTREAM Web Portal?
Go into the Stream you want to copy. Click on the COPY button at the top. You will notice that the copy of the Stream has the word “COPY” appended on the end. Set your rolling range to yesterday and click SAVE. Create a new chart and add your original Stream and the COPY of the Stream you just created to the new chart.
What differentiates NRGSTREAM Web Portal from NRGSTREAM Trader?
The main difference is NRGSTREAM Web Portal is a Browser application and NRGSTREAM Trader is a Desktop application. Unlike Trader, there is no client software to install to access to your account. Go to www.nrgstream.com and click the Login tab, enter your user credentials and you are connected immediately.
How do I set a Stream Alert?
Go to the DATA tab.
Navigate the folders to find the stream you wish to set the alert on, as you would to view the data for that stream.
Click the Alerts tab, then the Enabled check box and set your min and max values.
Click SAVE.
How do I change the password on my NRGSTREAM Web Portal account?
Login to NRGSTREAM Web Portal.
Click the PROFILE tab and enter your old password on the left.
Enter your new password and confirm the password and click SAVE.
I would like to view data on my wireless devices. Does NRGSTREAM have this capability?
Yes, this feature is available when creating a Panel.
To create a new Panel:
Click on the Panels tab. Click New to create a Panel.
From Stream Selector window, navigate the Stream folders to make your Stream selections. Click Save when you have finished selecting Streams.
Edit the Panel options: Name, Fonts, Display options etc.
Click the link that says "Generate Link for Wireless".
A link will be sent to the designated email address on your account and will appear at the top of the Panel.
Forward the URL to your wireless device. Whenever you launch the link from your wireless device it will display the latest information for the Streams contained in the panel.
I would like to download data from NRGSTREAM Web Portal. Is this option available?
Yes, every chart and stream has a Download button to download the data into a CSV file. However, if you require the ability to run frequent extracts and wish to schedule recurring data downloads. Then we recommend a separate NRGSTREAM Xtractor account or upgrade to NRGSTREAM Trader.
I’ve inherited NRGSTREAM Web Portal from a previous user. Unfortunately, there are way too many alerts. How do I identify and disable any active alerts?
Click on the Alerts tab to view all Events and Active Streams Alerts.
To disable an Active Alert – click on the Stream Name, then uncheck the Alerts Enabled check box and click Save.
To disable an Active Event – click on the Event Name, then click the Delete button.
I would like to open multiple windows simultaneously. How can I do this?
Multiple windows can be opened by using the POPUP features. Charts, Panels and individual Streams can be popped up for display.

What do I need to run NRGSTREAM Xtractor?
To run NRGSTREAM Xtractor you must run a Microsoft operating system from Windows Vista SP2 or Windows Server 2008 SP2 forward (i.e. Vista, Windows 7, etc) and have access to the internet.
How come Xtractor outputs csv files that sometimes line up the data on one time series and other times posts a time series for each Stream?
If your csv file has more than one time series, you have selected streams that have an inconsistent data interval such as contract data for example. Streams that have consistent intervals (i.e. 5 min, hourly, etc) will line up together. To have all Stream line up on a single time series, select the “Force data alignment” option from the Output section of the extract.
What’s the difference between SQL XML and XML in NRGSTREAM Xtractor?
The SQL XML file is formatted for use with SQL Server XML Bulk Load Component to directly load your extract into your SQL Server database.
How do I download and install the latest version of Xtractor?
Go to www.nrgstream.com and mouse over Download tab. Click on Xtractor 2.
Please login with your credentials, if required.
Click on "Xtractor 2 64bit" or "Xtractor2 32bit" button.

Error has occurred while I was trying to install NRGSTREAM Xtractor. How do I diagnose this problem?

How do I create an extract?
Open NRGSTREAM Xtractor and select New.
An extract Properties window will open, click on Streams button.
Navigate the Stream Selector and make your Stream selections and click Save.
Modify the settings on the Range & Output tab and Save the extract.
The extract is ready to be run OnDemand or you can click the Schedule tab to make it a recurring extract.
To schedule an extract – Navigate to the Schedule tab and adjust the scheduling options then check the Enabled check box to enable the extract schedule.
To retrieve all 24 hourly data intervals make sure to set the "Scheduled Time" between 1:00:00 AM and 1:59:00 AM
Data extraction has failed. Status message: "failed - Could not open directory location", What can I do?
Check your Output directory name. Make sure the file directory location is correct and another file with the same name is not already open.
Check with your IT department. Has the directory location been altered or moved?
If possible – look at successful historical extraction and copy its directory location.
My NRGSTREAM Xtractor has crashed. Is it possible that I may have overloaded my Xtractor?
Yes, it is possible to overload the Xtractor. Memory capacity and the age of your PC can be a contributing factor for speed and reliability.
