Stream Adjustment Rules
The base data interval on the adjustment stream must be greater than or equal
to the base interval on the base stream.
When viewing the stream in different data intervals (View Data in
NrgStream Trader), the system will attempt to match the
selected interval with an interval that is greater than or equal to on the
adjustment stream. If the adjustment stream does not have an interval that is greater than or
equal to your selected interval on the base stream, no data will be returned.
You cannot adjust a stream by a stream that is already adjusted by another stream.
You cannot adjust a stream by itself.
Keep in mind that all charts, events and stream alerts will reflect any
adjustments that have been made to a stream. To preserve original streams,
simply make a Copy prior to setting up your stream adjustments.
Viewing Stream Adjusted Streams
The adjusted data will be displayed in all views in all services.
When using dynamic charting or extracting data from adjusted streams in
NrgStream Trader, only the resulting adjusted column will be presented.
To
view or download the adjusted data, the base stream data and the adjustment stream
data, you must use the View Data feature in NrgStream Trader. You can then click
the Download button to create a local CSV file with all columns represented.
When dividing a base stream by an adjustment stream with a zero, the adjusted
value will be represented by a zero.
When selecting an optional view of daily high/average/low on an adjustment
stream, the chart will be converted to a LINE chart.
When apply adjustments against multi-column data views (ie low/avg/high) the adjustment will
always be
applied to the average or default column.
Data Intervals on Adjusted Streams
When getting data for an adjustment stream, the system will attempt to get
data for the matching time period. If there is no data for the adjustment
stream, no data will be returned for the stream.
The adjusted data that you are viewing will only be presented for periods
where there is data for both the base stream and the adjusted stream. Example: If your adjustment stream is has a last effective date of 12:20 and
your base stream has a last effective date of 12:30, adjusted data will only be
presented up will the 12:20 interval.
The match on the data intervals also applies to any stream Data Alerts or
Events that utilize the adjusted stream. Even if you have real-time data on the
base stream, alerts and events will not be triggered until there is new data for
both the base and adjustment stream.
Time Zones on Adjusted Streams
Be careful when adjusting streams by streams in another time zone.
Adjustments will not be automatically made on the adjustment stream to match
the base stream.
Example: If your base stream is in Central time and your adjustment stream is
in Eastern Time, the adjustment data will be applied regardless of the time
zone for the matching date/time. The 12:00 interval in Central time will be adjusted by the 12:00 interval
in Eastern time
If you want a match on the actual time, make a COPY of the adjustment stream,
then adjust the time zone to match the base stream. When picking the adjustment
stream, select the copy of the stream with the adjusted time zone.
